Parent Visa
After settling in Australia, you may consider to bring your parents to live with you in Australia permanently. There are types of parent visa available to allow you bring your parents to Australia, as long as your parents pass the balance of family test and meet other criteria.
For a family migration application to be successful, both the sponsor and the applicant need to meet the eligibility criteria for the visa.
There are three different type of parent visas:
- Parent Visa
- Aged Parent Visa
- Contributory Parent Visa
Child Visa
The child visa allows a child to join their parent sponsor in Australia indefinitely. The parent can apply on behalf of a child younger than 18 years of age.
If the child is adopted, the adoption must have taken place before the adopting parent became a citizen or Australia, holder of a permanent Australian visa or an eligible New Zealand citizen.
If the adoption happened after this, then the adopting parent should lodge an Adoption Visa application.
